U’s midfielder Cameron McGeehan is looking forward to getting back to action this weekend when Morecambe visit the JobServe Community Stadium.
The summer arrival was missing from Tuesday’s defeat at Newport after picking up two yellow cards in last weekend’s thrilling win against Notts County, but says he is aiming for a winning return, should he be picked on Saturday afternoon.
“It was a difficult one to watch on Tuesday, not being able to play and help the boys. Obviously it was a disappointing result as well – just looking forward to the game Saturday.
“If you want to be a successful team, you’ve got to put the consistent performances together but the way we’ve played, at least since I’ve been here, there has been some really good performances. The level of the players is really high.
“It’s early in the season, and there’s still plenty of time. I think it’s all coming together, it’s just frustrating because the results are the most important thing, but we’ve got a game in hand and we can put a little run together now going into some games that we want to be winning.
“Hopefully that will see us move up the table.”
